How To Save and Reuse Content With the Library
The Tirenoa Library is the store for content you build once and want to use again. It holds six kinds of items: templates (whole page layouts), containers, columns, elements, post cards and mega menus.
This guide covers saving, inserting, managing and transferring library items. A saved item is inserted as an independent copy. If one item should stay identical on many pages and change everywhere at once, make it global instead. That is covered in the guide on global elements.

What You Can Save
| Type | What it is | Where it is used |
|---|---|---|
| Template | The complete content of a page, with its page template, custom CSS and Tirenoa Page Options | Loaded into another page from the Library window |
| Container | One container with its columns and elements | Inserted when you add a container |
| Column | One column with its elements | Inserted when you add a column |
| Element | A single element with its settings | Inserted when you add an element |
| Post Card | The design of one item in a list of posts | Chosen in the Post Cards element |
| Mega Menu | The content of a large dropdown panel | Assigned to a menu item |
Save a Container, Column or Element
- In the Builder, move the pointer over the container, column or element.
- Click its save icon. The tooltip reads Save Container, Save Column or Save Element.
- Enter a name and save. Use a name that tells you later what the item contains, for example “Team row, 3 columns”.
The item on the page does not change. A copy of it is stored in the Library and can be inserted anywhere from now on.
Save and Load a Whole Page as a Template
- Open the page in the Builder and click Library in the toolbar.
- On the Templates tab type a name into Custom template name and click Save Template.
- Open the page that should receive the template, open the Library window again and find it under Saved Templates.
- Click Load and answer How To Load Template? with Replace all page content, Insert above current content or Insert below current content.
Note: Replace all page content removes what is on the page and also loads the page template and the Tirenoa Page Options saved with the template. The two insert options only add the saved content and leave the settings of the page alone.
Manage Items on the Library Screen
Tirenoa › Library lists everything that is saved, with the columns Title, Type, Global and Date. The links above the table filter the list by type, show only global items, or open the trash.
- Edit or Live Builder: open the item in the Builder and change it. Pages that already use a copy are not changed; only global items update everywhere.
- Clone: make a second item with “( Cloned )” added to the name, as a starting point for a variation. Cloning needs at least the Editor role.
- Trash: move the item to the trash. From the trash you can Restore it or choose Delete Permanently. Select several rows and use Move To Trash to clear out many items at once.
You can also start an item from nothing here: choose a type under Select Library Element Type, enter a name and click Create Library Element. This is the way to create post cards and mega menus, which cannot be saved from a page.
Move Library Items to Another Site
Export and import are on Tirenoa › Builder Options and need an administrator account.
- On the source site, go to Export Library Content. Click Export Content to download containers, columns, elements, post cards and mega menus, or Export Templates to download page templates. Each button downloads one XML file.
- On the target site, go to Import Library Content, choose the XML file and click Import.
- Wait for the message that the content was imported, then check the items under Tirenoa › Library.
- The export always contains all items of the chosen kind; you cannot pick single items.
- The files contain the items only, not the media library. After the import, open the items and replace images that still point to the source site.
- Layouts, layout sections, forms and Off Canvas items are not part of these two files.
