Global Options: Email

The Email group of Tirenoa › Options has two sections. Email Settings decides how the website sends email at all. Email Design sets the look of the emails your Tirenoa Forms send: a header, a body and a footer wrapped around every message.

You need this group when form emails do not arrive or land in spam, and when the emails should carry your company name and colors.

Email Settings

This section shows the Tiaro Mail panel. With it the site sends all its email through a real mailbox of yours instead of the web server, which is what most mail providers expect today. You pick a provider or enter the mail server yourself, give the mailbox and its password, set the sender address and name, and send a test email. The panel also keeps a log of sent and failed emails and checks the sender domain’s DNS records. The full walk-through is in the Tiaro Mail guide linked below.

  • The panel is part of the Tiaro Core plugin. If Tiaro Core is not active, the section only shows a notice asking you to activate it.
  • Only administrators see the panel.
  • The panel has its own buttons. Its settings are saved with them, not with the Save Changes button of the Global Options.

Note: With Tiaro Mail switched on, the website connects to the mail server you entered to hand over each email. No other service is involved.

Email Design

The design applies to every email a Tirenoa Form sends, on the whole site: notifications to you and confirmations to the person who filled in the form. There is one design for all forms. A Preview at the bottom of the section follows your changes as you make them; real emails use the new design once you save the options.

The section has three parts, in the order they appear in an email.

Email Design: Header

The header is the banner at the top of every email. Its text stands in for a logo.

Option What it does
Header Text The text in the banner. Default: the name of your website.
Header Background Color Color of the banner. Default: #1d2327 (near black).
Header Text Color Color of the header text. Default: #ffffff.
Header Font Size Size of the header text in pixels, from 12 to 48. Default: 22.
Header Font Weight How bold the header text is: 400, 500, 600, 700 or 800. Default: 700.
Header Letter Spacing Space between the letters, from 0 to 10 in steps of 0.5. Default: 1.
Header Padding Space above and below the text, from 8 to 80. It controls the height of the banner. Default: 28.

Email Design: Body

The body is the main area: your intro text, then the message of the form itself.

Option What it does
Background Color The page background behind the email card. Default: #f4f4f4 (light gray).
Text Color Color of the body text. Default: #32373c.
Max Width Width of the email in pixels, from 400 to 800. 600 is the safe value for every mail program. Default: 600.
Padding Inner spacing of the body, from 0 to 60. Default: 24.
Intro Text A text shown above the form’s message, for example “Thanks for your inquiry, here is what was submitted:”. HTML is allowed. Default: empty.

Good To Know

  • The message between intro and footer comes from each form’s own notification settings, not from this section.
  • Scripts and similar active content in the intro or footer text are removed; plain formatting and links stay.
  • The design is the same for all languages of a multilingual site.

To check a change in a real mail program, save the options and submit one of your forms yourself.
