Global Options: SEO & Performance
The SEO & Performance group of Tirenoa › Options has two sections. SEO controls what search engines, social networks and AI assistants read about your site. Performance controls how fonts, images, styles and scripts are loaded.
The defaults are sensible for most sites. Change one thing at a time and look at the site afterwards, because several performance options trade speed against appearance.

SEO
| Option | What it does |
|---|---|
| Meta Tags Separator | The character placed between the parts of a page title and description. Default: – |
| Open Graph Meta Tags | Outputs the tags social networks and messengers read when a page is shared. Turn it off if an SEO plugin already writes these tags, to avoid duplicates. Default: on. |

| Robots.txt Content | Replaces the content of the site’s robots.txt. Leave it blank to keep the WordPress default, which is correct for most sites. |
Rich Snippets are structured data: hidden information that helps search engines understand a page.
| Option | What it does |
|---|---|
| Enable Rich Snippets | Main switch for structured data on the whole site. Default: on. The five switches below are only shown while it is on. |
| Rich Snippets Title, Rich Snippets Author Info, Rich Snippets Last Update Date | Add the title, the author and the date of the last update to the data. Default: on. |

| Rich Snippets Organization | Adds data about your company to every page. Default: on. |
| Business Address, Business Phone, Business Email | Used only for the company data above; they are not printed anywhere on the site. Leave blank to omit. |
The remaining parts are Sitemap, AI & Search Engine Indexing, Search Console and Indexing.
| Option | What it does |
|---|---|
| Enable HTML Sitemap | Creates a page, once, that lists all public content of the site for visitors and crawlers. Default: on. |
| Sitemap Page Slug | The address ending of that page. Default: sitemap. Only shown when the HTML sitemap is enabled. |
| Generate llms.txt | Serves a file named llms.txt at the root of the site, which helps AI assistants understand your content. Default: on. |
| Site Description for AI | A short description of your site that appears in llms.txt. Only shown when llms.txt is on. |
| Google Search Console Verification, Bing Webmaster Tools Verification | Paste the value of the verification tag here (only the part inside content=”…”) to prove ownership of the site to those services. |
The Indexing panel at the end tells search engines about new and changed pages and can submit your sitemap to Google and Bing. It has its own buttons and is explained in the guide linked below.
Performance
The first block covers fonts, scripts and general loading.
| Option | What it does |
|---|---|
| Iframe Lazy Loading | Loads embedded frames only when they come into view: Tirenoa, WordPress (the browser’s own method) or None. Default: None. |
| Font Face Rendering | Block waits for fonts before showing text; Swap All shows text at once in a fallback font; Swap Non-Icon Fonts does that for text fonts only. Default: Block. |
| Preload Key Fonts | Fetches fonts early: All, Google Fonts, Icon Fonts or None. Default: Icon Fonts. |
| Preload Google Font Variants, Preload Google Font Subsets | Which weights and character sets are preloaded. Defaults: Normal 400 and Latin. Only shown when the preload setting is All or Google Fonts. |
| Emojis Script | Disable it if you do not use emojis. Default: Enable. |
| jQuery Migrate Script | Disable it if nothing on the site relies on outdated script code. Default: Enable. |
| Load jQuery In Footer | Loads the script library late. This can break scripts of other plugins; use with caution. Default: off. |
| Load Stylesheets In Footer | Styles no longer block the first display, but the page may flash unstyled for a moment. Default: off. |
| Enable Gzip Compression | Adds compression rules to the server’s .htaccess file. Works on Apache servers only; a notice appears when the file cannot be written. Default: off. |
| Enable Video Facade | Shows a preview image and loads the player only when the video is played. Applies to the YouTube and Vimeo elements. Default: Off. |
| Clear Object Cache | Clears the WordPress object cache when posts are edited or deleted. Useful on hosts with a persistent object cache. Default: off. |
Note: With a video facade, the visitor’s browser contacts YouTube or Vimeo only after the click on play.
Performance: Images
| Option | What it does |
|---|---|
| SVG Media Upload | Allows SVG files in the media library. Default: Disable. |
| Upload Image Format | Converts newly uploaded images to WebP or AVIF; Default keeps the uploaded format. If the server cannot create AVIF, WebP is used. Existing images can be converted on the System Status page. |
| Keep Original Upload Images | Keeps the original files and their thumbnails next to the converted ones, which uses more storage. Only shown when a modern upload format is chosen. Default: Disable. |
| Display Image Format | Modern shows the converted images, Original the uploaded format. Only shown when originals are kept. Default: Modern. |
| Maximum Post Revisions | How many earlier versions WordPress keeps per page or post, from 0 (none) to 50. Default: 3. |
| WordPress Image Quality | Quality of the generated image sizes, 1 to 100. Default: 82. |
| WordPress webP Image Quality | The same for WebP images. Only shown when the upload format is WebP. Default: 86. |
| Tirenoa Image Sizes | Which additional sizes are created for every upload. Sizes marked (L) belong to older layouts. Default: all sizes. |
| WordPress Big Image Size Threshold | Larger uploads are scaled down to this width or height in pixels. 0 disables the limit. Default: 2560. |
| Image Lazy Loading | Tirenoa, WordPress or None. The WordPress method can cause problems in image carousels. Default: None. |
Quality, size and threshold changes apply to images uploaded from then on. Existing images keep their files until their sizes are regenerated.
Performance: Dynamic CSS & JS
| Option | What it does |
|---|---|
| CSS Compiling Method | File writes the generated styles to files (one per page), Database stores them in the database, Disabled turns compiling off. Default: File. |
| Combine Third Party CSS Files | Merges the styles of selected plugins into the main stylesheet. Only shown with the File method. Not recommended together with a caching plugin that combines files itself. |
| Load Media-Queries Files Asynchronously | Loads the styles for other screen sizes separately and without blocking. Default: off. |
| Enable Critical CSS | Enables critical CSS and adds a page for managing it to the Tirenoa dashboard. Default: off. |
| Cache Server IP | Only for setups with a separate cache server; ask your server administrator. |
| Enable JS Compiler | Combines the script files into one. Turning it off loads them one by one and slows the site. Default: on. |
| Reset Tirenoa Caches | A button that rebuilds the generated styles and scripts. Use it after changes that do not show up on the site. |
Performance: Progressive Web App
A progressive web app lets visitors install the site like an app. The options below appear only when the PWA plugin is installed and active; otherwise a notice points you to the Tirenoa Plugins page. The site must use HTTPS.
| Option | What it does |
|---|---|
| Enable Progressive Web App | Main switch. Default: off. Everything below is only shown when it is on. |
| Cache-First strategy file types | File types stored in the browser and reused without asking the server. Default: images, scripts, styles and fonts. |

| App Splash Screen Logo | A PNG logo of 512 x 512 pixels shown while the app starts. |
| App Display Mode | Fullscreen, Standalone, Minimal UI or Browser. Default: Minimal UI. |
| Precache Pages | Pages stored in advance so they open faster. Use sparingly. |
| App Theme Color | Color of the app header and the browser toolbar on phones. |
